Midwest Central is 10-0 against Astoria/VIT since December of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Midwest Central Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Astoria/VIT Rebels at 7:30 p.m. Midwest Central is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
Last Friday, Midwest Central was beaten by Illini Bluffs 77-28. While losing is never fun, Midwest Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 626th, while Illini Bluffs is ranked 179th).
Meanwhile, Astoria/VIT beat West Prairie 61-50 on Friday.
It was another big night for Ben Sherrod, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 10 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Foglesong, who scored 16 points along with 9 rebounds.
Midwest Central's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Astoria/VIT, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Everything came up roses for Midwest Central against Astoria/VIT in their previous matchup back in January as the squad secured a 71-42 win. Does Midwest Central have another victory up their sleeve, or will Astoria/VIT turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
