The Fox Lane Foxes will venture away from home to square off against the Rye Garnets at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fox Lane will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Fox Lane had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Eastchester on Tuesday. The Foxes put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 11-1 win. The Foxes' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Jackson Carroll made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, CJ Simone was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That stolen base marked the first that he has snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Janak Bain, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Fox Lane always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Rye entered their tilt with Clarkstown North on Tuesday with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Rams an 11-0 shutout. The Garnets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by eight runs or more this season.
Rye's record now sits at 9-2. As for Fox Lane, the victory was their first at home, bumping their record up to 2-6.
Fox Lane came out on top in a nail-biter against Rye in their previous matchup back in May of 2023, sneaking past 2-1. Do the Foxes have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Garnets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
