The Riverpointe Christian Academy Wolves came tearing into Monday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 38.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past Charleston Collegiate with points to spare, taking the game 53-36. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Riverpointe Christian Academy also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Riverpointe Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kevin Dukes Jr, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Dukes Jr hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Alante Manigo Jr, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Several Sundevils players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aaron Jaques, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jaques has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Grant Morrison, who scored 12 points along with seven assists.
Riverpointe Christian Academy's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-7. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.5 points per game. As for Charleston Collegiate, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverpointe Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Faith Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. Hopefully Riverpointe Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Monday. As for Charleston Collegiate, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Cross at 12:00 p.m. Hopefully Charleston Collegiate focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Monday.
