2A Evergreen recap October 29, 2013
Tumwater added to the longest winning streak in 2A Evergreen this week by beating River Ridge, 59-0. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.
Tumwater took down the Hawks 59-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Jayden Croft threw for 71 yards and 2 touchdowns in the win.
Sid Otton's team's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Christian Cummings contributed 149 yards. Easton Trakel helped Tumwater's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 24 yards.
Cummings provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Thunderbirds topped River Ridge. Cummings' favorite target this week was Nick Foerstel, who caught 3 passes for 40 yards.
Foerstel was the best wideout in the league this week as Tumwater bested Steve Schultz's team. Foerstel racked up 3 receptions for 40 yards. Trakel helped Tumwater's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 24 yards.
Tumwater's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Thunderbirds feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Croft has thrown for 787 yards and 7 touchdowns this season, while Trakel has 15 catches for 314 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Black Hills takes on the Thunderbirds. The Wolves are in fourth place, while Tumwater is in first place.
