Roncalli extended their winning streak to 17 games thanks to a huge performance from Matthew Dial. The Royals came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Westfield Shamrocks for which the team can thank Dial, who had five digs and two aces. He has been hot for a while, having also posted 13 or more assists the last 61 times he's played.

When it comes to explaining why Westfield lost on Friday, don't look at Graham Weddige. Despite the final result, he had 21 assists and eight digs.

Roncalli's win bumped their record up to 20-3. As for Westfield, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 18-6 record.

Roncalli wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Lincoln-Way East on the 10th. As for Westfield, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Cathedral on the 10th.
