After a string of three wins, the Foundation Academy Lions 's's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 54-46 to Central Florida Christian Academy. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Foundation Academy in their matchups with Central Florida Christian Academy: they've now lost six in a row.
Foundation Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Cameron Basden and Riley Michels. Basden scored 21 points, while Michels scored 11 points along with four steals. The matchup was Basden's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jacob Osborne, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
Central Florida Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Justin Brigham, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds. Those 14 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Arman Kamel was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Foundation Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Central Florida Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 3-7.
