After flying high against the Isabella Mustangs last Monday, the Billingsley Bears came back down to earth. Billingsley's tough 58-36 defeat to Jemison on Friday might stick with them for a while. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Billingsley in their matchups with Jemison: they've now lost six in a row.
Several Bears players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Landon Jones, who scored 10 points along with 8 rebounds. Jones is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Danny Boice, who scored 4 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 blocks.
Billingsley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Jemison, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-3.
Billingsley will head out on the road to face off against Holtville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jemison and Chilton County will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 4th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
