After losing to Salamanca the last time they met, Southwestern decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Trojans blew past the Warriors, posting  a  49-7 win. Fans of the Trojans have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+  points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Southwestern to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Trent Lewis, who rushed for 112 yards and one  TD on only seven carries, and also threw for 146 yards and three  touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 69 yards.  Roger Markham was in the mix  too, providing Southwestern with two scores.
 Another reason for the win was Southwestern's imposing  defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. The heavy lifting was done by  Zach Markham and  Tyler McIntyre, who racked up all four sacks between them. Markham is also crushing it when it comes to  total tackles: he's   made at least five every time he's  taken the field this season. Southwestern received some extra help from  Branden Francis, whose fumble return for a touchdown  made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Southwestern pushed their record up to 6-0 with the  victory, which was their fourth straight  on the road. Those  road  wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 48.3 points over those games. As for Salamanca, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Southwestern will  challenge  rival Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. That  game will pit two of the most dominant  signal callers against one another:  Lewis and  Carson White. Meanwhile, Salamanca is set to  square off against  their familiar foe Fredonia  at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
