The Stansbury Stallions are taking a road trip to take on the Ridgeline Riverhawks at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Stansbury comes in on four and Ridgeline on eight.
On Tuesday, Stansbury had just enough and edged out Sky View 3-2.
Stansbury was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (109-101), but they still managed to win. The final score came out to 27-25, 17-25, 25-21, 17-25, 15-13.
Stansbury found their leader in sophomore Mckaslyn Major, who had 13 digs.
Sky View typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Ridgeline proved too difficult a challenge. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Bobcats. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Riverhawks have posted against the Bobcats since October 11, 2022.
Ridgeline's got stronger as the match went on, holding Sky View to fewer and fewer points set over set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-17, 25-15.
Ridgeline's victory bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Stansbury, their win bumped their record up to 8-12.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's contest: Stansbury has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6.6 aces per game. However, it's not like Ridgeline struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 11.6 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Stansbury suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Ridgeline in their previous matchup on September 2nd. Can the Stallions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
