Panorama hasn't had much luck against Sherman Oaks CES recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Pythons will look to defend their home field against the Knights at 2:30 p.m. Panorama will aim to continue their five-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
Panorama is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They fell just short of Grant by a score of 27-26 on Thursday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Monday (24), the Pythons still had to take the loss.
Meanwhile, Sherman Oaks CES had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it ten on Thursday. They never let the White Tigers get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won 11 contests by ten runs or more so far this season.
Araceli Altamirano made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Sherman Oaks CES got a massive performance out of Camila Sauceda, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That home run marked the first that Sauceda has launched this season. Sophia Pirayesh was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
Sherman Oaks CES was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .517. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .467 or higher in eight consecutive games.
Sherman Oaks CES' win bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Panorama, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7-1.
