California extended the longest winning streak in Del Rio this week by beating Warren, 42-14. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Condors.
Matthew Acosta and Gerry Pantoja gave Whittier a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Acosta threw for 33 yards, while Pantoja ran for 56 yards. Anthony Figueroa also contributed to the rushing game with 31 yards on the ground.
5-foot-10 quarterback Frankie Palmer of La Serna is the league leader in passing yards this season with 780. He has also thrown five touchdowns. On the ground, El Rancho's JOE SANCHEZ has rushed for 737 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is JAVIER CARILLO. The El Rancho star has 27 catches for 333 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Dons take on California. At the moment, El Rancho is in fourth, while Jim Arnold's team is in first.
There should be lots of points scored when Vinnie Lopez's team and the Condors face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Dons comes in having scored 198 this season, while California has scored 157.
Pioneer made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 11,138 from 11,321. The improvement was the result of 59-7 victory over the Titans last week.
