Elbert hasn't had much luck against Simla recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Cubs at 4:00 p.m. Elbert will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Elbert came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Kiowa, falling 24-10.
Elbert got a massive performance out of Ethan Tesman, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those doubles were Tesman's first of the season. Elijah Cornell was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Simla). Everything went their way against Cripple Creek-Victor on Tuesday as they made off with a 22-2 victory. The Cubs haven't had any issues with the Pioneers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Simla got a massive performance out of Tatum Kocerha, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI Kocerha has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Rayfield, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI.
Simla always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Simla's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Elbert, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Elbert has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Simla struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Elbert might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Simla in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Will the Bulldogs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
