The Snake River Panthers were the 40-36 winner over the Blackfoot Broncos when they last played one another back in November, but their luck changed this time around. Snake River was just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 49-48 to Blackfoot.
Blackfoot's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marlee Pieper, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds. The game was Pieper's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Addison Tanner, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.
Snake River's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Blackfoot, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-4.
Snake River and Highland will round out the year against one another at 3:00 p.m. on December 27th at. Highland will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Idaho Rankings (they are ranked 130th, while Snake River is ranked 15th). Blackfoot will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Skyline at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024.
