Basketball Game Preview: Westover Christian Academy Bulldogs vs. Community Baptist Conqueror

Westover Christian Academy and Community Baptist are an even 4-4 against one another since December of 2014, but not for long. The Westover Christian Academy Bulldogs will take on the Community Baptist Conqueror in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Westover Christian Academy will be strutting in after a victory while Community Baptist will be coming in after a loss.

While Westover Christian Academy didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against Faith Christian by a score of 52-41 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

It was another big night for Caleb Hill, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 17 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was Braden Hundley, who posted ten points.

Meanwhile, Community Baptist was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 62-56 heartbreaker at the hands of Oak Ridge Military Academy.

Westover Christian Academy's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 8-3. As for Community Baptist, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Westover Christian Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Community Baptist when the teams last played back in November, winning 52-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Westover Christian Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
