Baseball Recap: Ribault Comes Up Short

After flying high against FAMU DRS last Saturday, Ribault came back down to earth. Ribault lost 14-4 to the Atlantic Coast Stingrays on Monday.

Ribault saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christian Morales, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Ribault is 5-2 when Morales posts two or more runs, but 2-6 otherwise. Braylin Clarke was another, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base.

Ribault dropped their record down to 7-8 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Atlantic Coast, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ribault will venture away from home to square off against Riverside at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ribault is facing Riverside at the right time seeing as Riverside is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Atlantic Coast, they will be taking part in a tournament against Baldwin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
