Basketball Recap: Hagerman Skates Past Sun Valley Community with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hagerman). They claimed a resounding 81-36 victory over the Sun Valley Community Cutthroats. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 44-13.

Hagerman had a senior duo take command as Ky Kendall posted 23 points in addition to seven steals and six boards and Martin Gonzalez dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds. Gonzalez's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Casen Knight, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 11 points and three steals.

Hagerman was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Hagerman's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-4. As for Sun Valley Community, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hagerman will square off against Lighthouse Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 15th. As for Sun Valley Community, they will face off against Oakley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
