Last Friday, Fort Wayne North Side didn't have too much breathing room in their match against the Cadets, but they still walked away with a 46-40 victory.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fort Wayne North Side to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaxson Fugate, who scored 12 points along with six assists and three blocks. Eugene Young Jr was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, after a string of 17 wins, Lawrence North's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 42-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Carmel. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lawrence North in their matchups with the Greyhounds: they've now lost five in a row.
Fort Wayne North Side pushed their record up to 12-5 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Lawrence North, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 17-1.
Fort Wayne North Side suffered a grim 83-61 defeat to the Wildcats when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Fort Wayne North Side avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
