Softball Recap: Satellite's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Satellite had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Cocoa Beach on Monday. The Scorpions blew past the Minutemen 13-4. The Scorpions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by seven runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Abigal Scaglione, who scored four runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Grey, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

The win was the third in a row for Satellite, bringing their record up to 15-8. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Cocoa Beach, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Satellite will challenge Foundation Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cocoa Beach, they will take on Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
