The Fort Hancock Mustangs will be playing at home against the El Paso HomeSchool Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Fort Hancock has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while the Panthers will arrive with eight straight wins.
Last Tuesday, Fort Hancock suffered a tough 66-46 defeat at the hands of the Badgers. That's two games in a row now that Fort Hancock has lost by exactly 20 points.
Despite the loss, Fort Hancock had strong showings from Patrick Hernandez, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds, and Emmanuel Herrera, who scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hernandez has scored all season.
Meanwhile, El Paso HomeSchool can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent contest last Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 81-30 win over Job Corps at home. El Paso HomeSchool's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Fort Hancock dropped their record down to 10-13 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for El Paso HomeSchool, their win bumped their record up to 10-2.
Fort Hancock skirted past the Panthers 56-53 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Will Fort Hancock repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
