Bennett Grossman had a dynamite game for Emery/Weiner, throwing for 170 yards and six touchdowns, while also rushing for 94 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries. Zac Laviage was another key contributor, picking up 111 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Emery/Weiner's win was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 7-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.5 points per game. As for Giddings Lonestar Southeast, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-2.
Emery/Weiner will look to defend their home field on Saturday against St. Augustine at 2:00 p.m. St. Augustine comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Giddings Lonestar Southeast is on the road again on Friday and play against Saint Mary's Hall at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. One thing working in Saint Mary's Hall's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last five games.
