The Herron Achaeans will face off against the Greenwood Christian Academy Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Herron is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
Herron is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Wednesday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter.

Jordyn Ault was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one RBI.
In other batting news, Elena Newsom and Taylor Cotham stepped up to the plate in a big way. Newsom went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double, while Cotham went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That triple marked the first that Newsom has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Cali Weaver, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Meanwhile, Greenwood Christian Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Oldenburg Academy on Tuesday and fell 7-5.
Like Herron, Greenwood Christian Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Kaylee Edgar. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. Edgar was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Elle Schnake made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Greenwood Christian Academy now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Herron, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.
Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Herron has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .473. However, it's not like Greenwood Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .534.
