The Leadership Academy Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Piedmont Classical Bobcats at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Leadership Academy will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
Even though Leadership Academy has not done well against Cornerstone Charter recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Leadership Academy simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Cornerstone Charter 82-51 at home. Given Leadership Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 175th, while Cornerstone Charter is ranked 590th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Landon Burleyson was the offensive standout of the match as he scored 25 points along with 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Caleb Foster, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Piedmont Classical on the road against Bethany on Friday as the team secured a 70-19 win. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 47-10.
Piedmont Classical's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ja'el Lawson , who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Anderson , who scored 11 points.
Leadership Academy has yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 5-0 record. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 44 points. As for Piedmont Classical, their win bumped their record up to 2-5.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Leadership Academy and Piedmont Classical are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Leadership Academy hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 69 points per game. However, it's not like Piedmont Classical struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 53 per game.
