Softball Recap: Academy of the New Church Takes a Loss

Academy of the New Church suffered their biggest loss since May 20, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against Friends' Central, falling 15-4. If the Lions were looking for revenge after losing 4-1 to Friends' Central when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Academy of the New Church saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jamie Madara, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Madara has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played. Jayda Mayo was another, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one RBI.

Academy of the New Church's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-2. As for Friends' Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Academy of the New Church will challenge rival Abington Friends at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Friends' Central is set to take on their familiar foe Shipley at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
