This season hasn't been kind to The Deltona Wolves, who are still winless after their eighth contest. They had to suffer through a rough 59-0 loss at the hands of Bishop Moore. While losing is never fun, Deltona can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 398th, while Bishop Moore is ranked 84th).
Jeremiah Hancock threw for 41 yards on three of 12 attempts. Cj Estridge was his top target, picking up 34 receiving yards. On the ground, Richard Inman rushed for 61 yards.
Bjorn Jurgensen was his usual excellent self, throwing for 215 yards and six touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was Gabriel Diaz, who picked up 93 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Deltona's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 7-2 DeLand and 6-2 Matanzas (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 63.2% over those games). As for Bishop Moore, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-3.
Deltona will head out on the road to face off against Pine Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pine Ridge is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for Bishop Moore, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Lake Buena Vista at 7:00 p.m.
