The Le Mars Bulldogs and the Jefferson Yellowjackets will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Le Mars is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
Le Mars pushed their score all the way to 84 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 95-84 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sioux City West. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Thursday (60), Le Mars still had to take the loss.
Meanwhile, Jefferson waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 62-55 win over Bishop Heelan Catholic. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Le Mars has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Jefferson, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season.
Le Mars lost to the Yellowjackets on the road by a decisive 76-60 margin when the teams last played on Thursday. Can Le Mars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
