The Klein Forest Eagles will face off against the Waltrip Rams at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Waltrip will be up against a hot Klein Forest squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. The Eagles' pitcher stepped up to hand Aldine a 14-0 shutout on Friday. Considering the Eagles have won four contests by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Jaylee Garza-2029 made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That double was her first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Diana Mendoza-2026 Committed, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and three runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Alexis Rios-2027 was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Klein Forest hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive games.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Waltrip, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-5 margin over Spring Woods on Friday. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Macy Kauffman was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Gonzales, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs.
The win got Waltrip back to even at 1-1. As for Klein Forest, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.
