The East Providence Townies''s three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They didn't even let East Greenwich onto the board and left with a 26-0 win. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as East Providence just coasted through the last quarter.
East Providence got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Steven Clark Jr out in front who rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. Another big playmaker for East Providence was Isaac Fox, who returned a punt for a touchdown.
East Providence's win on Friday bumped their record up to 2-4. As for East Greenwich, their loss was their seventh straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-6.
East Providence will square off against Burrillville at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Rhode Island (Burrillville is ranked 11th, while East Providence is ranked 18th). As for East Greenwich, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Raphael Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
