Basketball Recap: Taholah Extends Winning Streak to Four

Taholah came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.7 points), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Wahkiakum Mules 67-41. The Chitwhins have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 21 points or more this season.

Leading Taholah to victory were Maliah Pluff and Shirleymae Stafford. Pluff went 10-for-22 to rack up 23 points, while Stafford dropped a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. With that strong performance, Pluff is now averaging an impressive 15.5 points per game. Another player making a difference was Luvaila Smith, who posted nine points and seven boards.

Taholah's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-5. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points over those games. As for Wahkiakum, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.

Coming up, Taholah will be playing at home against Pe Ell at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Pe Ell will roll in looking for their 21st straight victory, something Taholah surely won't give up without a fight. As for Wahkiakum, they will welcome Mary M. Knight at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
