When it comes to explaining why Marathon lost, one person who can't be blamed is DAESHAWN HOLMES. Despite the final result, he scored 15 points along with eight blocks and six rebounds. HOLMES is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last five games he's played. ADRIAN CRUZ was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Tony Guerrero was his usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with eight assists and six steals for Somerset Academy (Silver Palms). Guerrero is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Touze, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds.
Marathon's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Somerset Academy (Silver Palms), the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 15-3.
Marathon will head out on the road to take on Downtown Doral at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Downtown Doral is ranked 687th, while Marathon is ranked 694th). As for Somerset Academy (Silver Palms), they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Coral Shores at 7:30 p.m.
