Montrose is 2-7 against Blue Ridge since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Meteors will look to defend their home field against the Raiders at 4:30 p.m. Montrose is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season.
On Friday, Montrose made easy work of Forest City and carried off a 15-4 win. The Meteors haven't had any issues with the Foresters recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.
Hudson Aukema made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Montrose is 3-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 3-4 otherwise. Aukema was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
