Rickards and Maclay are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Raiders will square off against the Marauders at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Rickards is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Rickards turned things around against Wakulla Christian School on Saturday. They came out on top against the Saints by a score of 14-10.

Jonathan McGlockton made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. McGlockton was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Rickards got a massive performance out of Carlos Rolle, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Rolle is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Jarquez Jackson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Rickards kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.
Maclay came out on top against North Florida Christian on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run first inning. The Marauders walked away with a 9-5 victory over the Eagles. The Marauders have beaten the Eagles the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Eagles has come to flipping the script.
The team relied heavily on Ben Wagnon, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Maclay is undefeated when Wagnon posts two or more runs, but 1-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Tucker Poppell, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs.
The win got Maclay back to even at 5-5. As for Rickards, they picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-9.
Monday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Rickards has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .443. However, it's not like Maclay struggles in that department as they've averaged .462. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Rickards might still be hurting after the 11-5 loss they got from Maclay in their previous meeting back in April of 2022. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
