Ellis won the last time they faced Plainville and things went their way  on Friday too. The Railroaders blew past the Cardinals 16-1. The result was nothing new for the Railroaders, who have now won 11 matches by six  runs or more  so far this season.
Ellis got a  massive  performance out of  Ben Byers, who  went a perfect 2-for-2 with two  stolen bases, three  RBI,  and one  run. Those  two  stolen bases gave  Byers a new career-high.  Austin Lopeman was another key player,  going 2-for-3 with five  RBI and two  runs.
 Ellis  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .750. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Plainville only posted  an  OBP of  .250.
Ellis has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-8 record  this season. Those  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Plainville, their defeat was  their eighth straight on the road, which  dropped their record down to 2-14.
 Ellis wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  game,  a  7-0  victory against Bucklin on the 12th. Plainville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
