The Amelia Academy Patriots will face off against the Kenston Forest Kavaliers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Tuesday, Amelia Academy got the win against Fuqua by a conclusive 12-2. The victory continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won four in a row.

Carson Dietz made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Amelia Academy is 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-3 otherwise. Dietz was even better at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Amelia Academy got a massive performance out of Aiden Long, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave Long a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Creswell, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Amelia Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Kenston Forest waltzed into their game on Tuesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 24-2 win. The Kavaliers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Graham Sledd was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That triple was his first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ransom Clarke, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Connor Parker, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs and two RBI.
Kenston Forest pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.3 runs over those games. As for Amelia Academy, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
