Having just played yesterday, the William Allen Canaries will head out on the road to face off against the Hazleton Area Cougars at 12:00 p.m. on December 28th. Hazleton Area took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on William Allen, who comes in off a win.
William Allen had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Thomas A. Edison by a score of 51-39 on Wednesday. The win was just what William Allen needed coming off of a 55-25 loss in their prior matchup.
Meanwhile, Hazleton Area was the victim of a rough 69-43 defeat at the hands of Woodson on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Hazleton Area can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 249th in Pennsylvania, while Woodson is ranked 74th in Virginia).
William Allen's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-6. As for Hazleton Area, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.
