After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Orangefield, East Chambers was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They never let the Hardin Hornets get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. Considering the Buccaneers have won 12 contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Hailey Hjelle was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Marley Morgan, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Mikeala Quave was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
East Chambers was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
