Mike Garcia of Walnut Springs ran for the longest rushing play in 1A 6 Man 1 Region III District 11 (6 Man) this season against Mount Calm last week. Garcia's team defeated Mount Calm as he sprinted for 57 yards on the play and finished with 94 in all.
Walnut Springs took down Mount Calm 59-12 last week, the largest margin of any game. Zane Trotter threw for 116 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 35 yards in the win.
Walnut Springs' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Hornets feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Trotter has thrown for 730 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, while Dillon Rose has 18 catches for 279 yards. Rose leads the league in rushing with 699 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Blum takes on Kopperl. At the moment, the Bobcats are in third, while the Eagles are in second.
