Even though the Greensburg Pirates scored an imposing 56 points on Tuesday, the Warren Central Warriors still came out on top. Warren Central managed a 60-56 victory over Greensburg. Winning is a bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 16 to 8 on the offensive boards, as Warren Central did.
It was another big night for Denyha Jacobs, who scored 27 points along with six steals. Another player making a difference was Denell Jacobs, who scored 12 points along with four steals.
Greensburg's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Leah West, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds. Claire Larrison was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds.
Warren Central's victory bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Greensburg, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-4.
Warren Central will head out on the road to square off against Lawrence Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lawrence Central is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 16 games. As for Greensburg, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Batesville at 1:15 p.m. on January 20th. Batesville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 114th, while Greensburg is ranked 25th).
