Softball Recap: Saturday's Defeat Ends Tazewell's Winning Streak

Tazewell dropped their record down to 6-4 on Saturday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They fell 7-2 to the Alcoa Tornadoes. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tornadoes earlier this season, when they won 12-6.

As for Alcoa, they are on a roll lately: they've won 21 of their last 24 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-6-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games.

For Alcoa's part, Grayson Burgess was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most hits Burgess has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Jablonski, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Tazewell has the luxury of staying home for another game and will welcome Powell at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Alcoa, they will face off against Lebanon at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
