On Huntland's side, Hadley Gardner stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 4-for-4 with a home run, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Jocy May, who went 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBI.
Even though they lost, Huntland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as New Hope only posted a batting average of .350.
New Hope's win bumped their record up to 11-14-1. As for Huntland, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2.
New Hope will take on North Jackson at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. North Jackson will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something New Hope surely won't give up without a fight. As for Huntland, they have the luxury of staying home for another game and will welcome Eagleville on Tuesday.
