Smithville lost against Caledonia back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Smithville Seminoles took a 52-33 bruising from the Caledonia Cavaliers. The Seminoles' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Smithville lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Isabelle Summerford, who posted 11 points and four steals. Summerford has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Mikayla Wall, who earned 13 points and three steals.

Smithville's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Caledonia, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1.

Smithville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 46-33 loss against Columbus Christian Academy on the 13th. As for Caledonia, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 34-31 victory against Amory on the 13th.
