It was a good run, but the Torrey Pines Falcons unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 62-54 to Carlsbad. Torrey Pines has not had much luck with Carlsbad recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Torrey Pines' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zach Jackson, who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Kail, who scored ten points along with seven assists.
Torrey Pines' defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-6. As for Carlsbad, they pushed their record up to 21-2 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Torrey Pines the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome San Dieguito Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. San Dieguito Academy has now lost 11 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 20. As for Carlsbad, they will be playing in front of their home fans against La Costa Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. La Costa Canyon will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while Carlsbad is ranked ninth).
