Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Antoine Seals, who scored seven points. Seals scored a full 30.4% of Girard College's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, International Christian was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 49-44 to Community Academy of Philadelphia. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for International Christian in their matchups with Community Academy of Philadelphia: they've now lost five in a row.
Girard College now has a losing record at 1-2. As for International Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
Everything came up roses for Girard College against International Christian when the teams last played back in January of 2017 as the squad secured a 95-30 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was International Christian's Joshua Coleman, who scored 16 points along with three steals.
