It was a good run, but the Hudson Explorers unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 58-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Streetsboro. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Hudson came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while Streetsboro is ranked 458th).
Among those leading the charge was Jackson Gula, who scored 13 points along with six assists and five rebounds. He set a new season high mark in blocks with two. Jack Batten was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Hudson's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Streetsboro, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.
Hudson will finish 2023 at home by hosting Howland at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Streetsboro will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Chagrin Falls at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Chagrin Falls focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday.
