The Sequoyah Chiefs waltzed into their contest Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against Rome by a score of 50-41. That's another feather in the cap for Sequoyah, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Sequoyah's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Addison Ghorley, who scored 13 points. Ghorley continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Milanni Abdus-Salaam, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Sequoyah has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Rome, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-2.
Sequoyah will head out on the road to face off against Etowah at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rome, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Creekview at 6:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Creekview is ranked 69th, while Rome is ranked 49th).
