De Soto extended the longest winning streak in Ridge & Valley this week by beating Seneca, 46-6. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Pirates.
De Soto led the league in scoring this week after putting up 46 points on the Indians.
North Crawford's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Joe Childs threw for 40 yards and Cody Herschberger had 30 yards receiving. On the ground Jacob Baumeister chipped in 123 yards. Jerrid McDaniel helped North Crawford's passing attack out by catching one ball for 10 yards.
Kaleb Davenport made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Trojans lost to Kickapoo/La Farge. The 5-foot-10 junior grabbed 1.5 sacks.
North Crawford's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Trojans feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Childs has thrown for 315 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Herschberger has eight catches for 111 yards. Baumeister leads the league in rushing with 401 yards.
A big matchup in Ridge & Valley this week will be when Ithaca takes on Wauzeka-Steuben. The Bulldogs are in third place, while the Hornets are in fourth place.
