The Lake Creek Lions entered their tilt with the A&M Consolidated Tigers with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Lake Creek narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past A&M Consolidated 68-65. Given Lake Creek's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 173rd, while A&M Consolidated is ranked 414th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Aedan Lewis was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 33 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Lake Creek's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cody Puckett, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Lake Creek has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. As for A&M Consolidated, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-11.
Lake Creek will head out on the road to face off against Rudder at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for A&M Consolidated, they will be playing at home against Montgomery at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
