Saniya Burks continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a triple-double on 75 points, 19 rebounds, and 15 steals. That makes it 23 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Rice's points. Another player making a difference was Aaliyah Nezar, who scored 17 points along with eight steals.
Rice pushed their record up to 19-4 with that victory, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Kemp, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.
Rice will head out on the road to face off against the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kemp, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Malakoff presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Yellowjackets in Texas (the Tigers are ranked 103rd, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 1276th).
