Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Andy Burdick and Andrew Hutchens Lead Brashier Middle College Charter to Victory

Brashier Middle College Charter got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They blew past the Greenville Tech Charter Warriors 57-37 on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Bengal, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Leading Brashier Middle College Charter to victory were Andrew Hutchens and Andy Burdick. Hutchens posted 13 points in addition to eight boards and six assists, while Burdick went 6 of 12 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds. That's the most points Hutchens has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ridge Bryson, who had ten points.

The victory made it two in a row for Brashier Middle College Charter and bumps their season record up to 5-8. As for Greenville Tech Charter, they dropped their record down to 3-8 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brashier Middle College Charter will head out to challenge Blacksburg at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Brashier Middle College Charter is facing Blacksburg at the right time seeing as Blacksburg is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Greenville Tech Charter, they will venture away from home to take on Chesnee at 7:45 p.m. on January 14th.
