If the Jenkins County War Eagles were feeling good off their 52-24 takedown of the Jefferson County Warriors on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Jenkins County took a 46-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Screven County. While losing is never fun, Jenkins County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 351st, while Screven County is ranked 134th).
Screven County was led to victory by Alailah Scott and Jaliah Roberts. Scott scored 16 points along with three steals, while Roberts dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. The game was Roberts' ninth in a row with at least ten points.
Jenkins County has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Screven County, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.
Jenkins County will be home for the holidays to greet Metter at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Screven County won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Southeast Bulloch at 6:00 p.m. on December 16th. Southeast Bulloch comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 14 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
