Captain Shreve has gone a perfect 7-0 against Summerfield recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Gators will venture away from home to take on the Rebels at 5:30 p.m. Captain Shreve is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
Last Friday, Captain Shreve earned an 11-8 victory over Weston.
Ella Hendrick was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and five unearned) runs off nine hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Meagan Hill, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Grace Stier, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI.
Meanwhile, Summerfield made easy work of Bastrop on Friday and carried off a 13-6 win. The Rebels might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.
Like Captain Shreve, Summerfield also got a great game from a two-way player: Melanie Salmon. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Salmon was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing four bases while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Braylin Brown was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Adisyn Brown also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Summerfield hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bastrop struck out nine times.
Summerfield pushed their record up to 12-7 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Captain Shreve, their record now sits at 19-13.
Captain Shreve took their victory against Summerfield when the teams last played on Monday by a conclusive 17-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Gators since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
